Having come across your website www.falklands-malvinas.com I am intrigued to find out more and hope that you don’t mind me contacting you out of the blue. I think it is a marvellous undertaking and hope that we can somehow include it in the travel documentary about the Falklands/ Malvinas that we are planning to film in February (9.-19.02).

Do you know of any activities that might take place during that time that might be worth mentioning?

As we won’t get around mentioning the war we definitely want to include the Argentine perspective, so anything you can think of would be very much appreciated. Also, would you have contacts for veteran’s organisations or the like in Argentina, so I could contact them to see if they might have a trip planned or might have some contacts for me?

Here a short description of our programme, just to give you an idea of what we’re about.

We, Pilot Film & Television Productions, are and award-winning television production company that is currently producing a documentary about the Falkland Islands for our highly acclaimed series “Treks in a Wild World”. Treks in a Wild World is a presenter-led programme in which we follow him/ her during an outdoor activity or trek of some kind- and during which we like him/ her to get as involved as possible in ongoing research.

The programme has been broadcast on television channels in over 40 countries, including Channel 4, BBC and LWT in the UK. It is presently shown on the Travel Channel in the UK, Discovery International, PBS in the US, OLN in Canada, ABC in Australia and many other terrestrial and cable and satellite channels including Voyage & France 5 in France, Mediaset in Italy, NRK in Norway, YLE in Finland, Denmark Radio TV in Denmark and TVE in Spain. This highly acclaimed series has a global audience of 30 million and has won over 20 international TV awards.

The programs illustrate the beauty and diversity of the cities and countries we visit. Our experienced team of directors and producers illustrate the culture and history of each place, encouraging travellers to explore different parts of the world. The show is not just tailor-made for the ‘backpacker’, instead millions of people of all ages (16-65) around the world enjoy our educational and informative travel documentaries.

We pride ourselves in presenting off the beaten path areas at our destination in order to show our viewers what life in the country is really like- what we don’t do is present a run of the mill tourist programme Our programmes depend on quirky characters and people with a genuine passion about their country who are willing to show us what it’s all about. So the more direct contacts you might be able to give us the better. Please do let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you very much in advance, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best Wishes,

Kristine Juergensen

-Gustavo Romano, artista digital.
